Mae Sa Craft Village Chiang Mai attractions

Jump to: Chiang Mai attractions Galleries - Chiang Mai attractions Articles

The Mae-Sa Valley provides lazy days of quiet relaxation, plus the chances to explore unique attractions.

Nearby are tribal villages of the Meo, where the ancient way of custom and costume are little changed today. Theres an elephant camp, with a daily show, a short hike or bus ride away. You can even return to the resort on an elephants back, along a mountain trail. Your touring can include an orchid nursery, and a lobster farm, and take you deeper into the famous mountain scenery of the north.

Mae-Sa Valley Craft Village

Mae-Sa Valley Craft Village offers a day out with a difference. Nestling within one of Thailands most beautiful botanical gardens, with its own stream and tiny waterfall, The Craft Village is home to a group of the regions highly-skilled artisans: potters, weavers, silversmiths, wood-carvers.

But here, visitors can not only enjoy watching them at work, they can join in! Morning and afternoon activities enable participants to learn some of the skills that have made northern Thai craft work famous throughout the world.

Mae-Sa Valley Craft Village has three centres of activity: a Thai cookery school, a health centre and the craft village itself. Each has an English-speaking instructor and each session, morning or afternoon, lasts two and a half hours. Participants can spend a half or a whole day and can learn two different crafts or practice one in greater depth. Where appropriate visit that they have made themselves. This is a day-out that everyone can enjoy - adults and children. No prior experience is required and everyone is helped to achieve their best results.
