Pung Tao Gong Ancestral Temple is the oldest Chinese temple in Chiang Mai. It was constructed during the reign of Rama V in the year 1878.
The shrine was recently restored, and is very ornate. It shows that Chinese culture is well alive under the Thais of Chinese ancestry who came to Thailand as merchants within the last 200 years.
The Pung Tao Gong Ancestral Temple is located at the River Ping on the right hand side of the road as the flower market finishes.
