Mr. Bouckaert
Good location close to bus terminal and airport, friendly staff. We booked a room in the new wing: it was a beautiful rooms, with a nice bathroom (with bath, and a very good shower). There is also a pool and pool bar, and free luggage store services: a perfect combination if you already checked out and you need to kill time before you catch a flight. The only downside was the poor breakfast, but in our opinion this should not keep you from visiting this hotel!

Chiang Mai Gate was the best hotel that I stayed in while in Thailand. Contrary to the general culture that I experienced in Thailand of constantly wanting to sell you something even if you were not interested, the staff at this hotel were always helpful and courteous. I never sensed any attempt to sell me something I didn't want or need here. I was provided with a useful map on my arrival. The hotel has a travel agent in the lobby who can assist you with your itinery while in Chiang Mai. The hotel is within walking distance of the night market and the weekend bazaar (about 10 to 15 minutes). The finishes of the hotel were more luxurious than I expected for the cost. This hotel is certainly very good value for money and I will definitely consider staying here again when I'm in need of a hotel in Chiang Mai.

As a launching Pad to Northern Thailand, this was the perfect location. Although the room was basic, it was comfortable sleeping with Air Con. The very affordable rates (AUD 22) included a choice of breakfast (western or Thai). The staff provided everything from arranging a massage in our room, transport to the night markets, to a trips the Golden Triangle, Ancient Temples and Elephant rides! A walk in the area at night also yeilded some amazingly good value and delicious Thai meals (AUD 16 for 4 incl Beer Chang). Unbeatable value.
