Mr. Judatt We spent 2 weeks in the Empress in late June/early July. As part of our deal we ate breakfast and lunch in the hotel and both meals were very good. Cooked to order omelettes each morning as well as pancakes, waffles and french toast cooked right in front of you. Very good.
The rooms were a nice size and were cleaned immaculately each day. The bathrooms were a decent size although not what I would call large.
We were in a corner room so had windows on two walls with a beautiful view of the mountain. The pool area was nice although a hot tub would have been nice.
The staff were incredible. The front desk people always gave a smile and a wai and a greeting when you walked by. The housekeeping staff did a great job.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat - about a 10 minute walk to the night market.
Mr Tan My stay in Empress was unforgettable because of the beautiful fresh roses that greet us everyday at the hotel lobby. Oh what a very lovely sight! The hotel is near the night bazaars. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable (we would always ask for a recommendation for our night out or eat out). The rooms need improvement. But with the price, just right.
Mr. Kapten Stayed at the Empress Hotel for three nights from New Year's eve 2006. The New Year's party was great with a sumptuous dinner buffet with foods of different nationalities. The traditional Thai dance performances were lively and entertaining, not to mentioned the lively particpation of the multi-national guests that were present.
The buffet breakfast was great and delicious, including both eastern and western delicacies.
Good location since it is within 10 - 15 minutes walking distance from the Night Bazaar. Managed to get some bargains, but not as much as that you will get in Bangkok Chatuchak market. The eateries near to the Bazaar provide a wide variety of food for those who are hungry after their shopping spree, ranging from stalls to restaurants.
The decor of the hotel lobby is attractive, with Thai paintings adorning the walls which provide a background for photo-taking enthusiasts.
Food reflexology and massage outlets are fairly priced and obtainable just outside the hotel for those with tired feet and bodies after a tour of the sights in the city.
